Migraine meds

in the middle of the day? Things could get weird.

ESPECIALLY at the Optometrist after work. (especially especially if they dilate my eyes!)

Another day,

another headache. UGH. At least it's moved from the left side of my head to the right?

...sigh.

For dinner tomorrow:

Steak. I marinaded the steak and it's sitting in the fridge as we speak, taking the marinade in (I hope). I also hope it's delicious and not horrible (obviously).

It's never much fun to ruin a steak.

In other non-food related items: I went for a 4 mile walk today (and on Sunday)! I love walking so I think this is going to be my new mode of exercise for the time being. Maybe I'll get back into running once it gets nicer out.

Oh, also: WHAT?!

Related (but I can't tell which is worse): DOUBLE WHAT?!

Oh the internet. You harbor so many treasures.

And finally (!!!) I really hope my migraine is completely gone by tomorrow. Two days is quite enough thank you.

To the person who hurt my car:

The HUGE scrape on my car is unacceptable and rude. I am very upset about this. Like, really upset.

:(

This just made me even more exhausted.

EDIT: Karma Police just came on my iTunes. You've been warned, whoever you are!!

Adventures in Friend-making

When I got to Ames, the only people I "knew" here were a friend of a friend, and my uncle's daughter and her husband. And I have seen neither since arriving.

That being said, after a week and a half in Ames, I still am friendless.

It's not that I am a hopeless case, it's just that making friends takes time.

BUT!! I am not without hope!

But for now, I am going to finish my episode of How I Met Your Mother (the 2nd go 'round) and go to sleep. It's LATE for this granny. Thank you 6:45AM Mon-Fri.

Here is the point in my life

when I wish I knew what was ahead. I don't want to know intricate details or anything, but I would like to know things like how long I will have to live at home working at Target, if I will get a job in publishing or if that's just a fleeting dream, etc.

Sigh.

I will be back home in Wheaton in one week from today. Probably around this time too.

...I wish this cold would beat it.

One year ago today

I was typing this and this about my trip to Germany. I can't believe that it was a year ago already! Now when I look back at that psychotic trip to Germany with Joanie, Suzanne, and Sarah I can't stop laughing, get nostalgic, and Europe-sick at the same time. Who knew that when I was miserable and sleeping on the floor of the Salzberg train station that a year from then I would look back and smile. I love hindsight.

In other news: I WILL FINISH MY FULBRIGHT APPLICATION TODAY! I WILL! I WILL!

...I am wearing my Universidad de Granada hoodie for inspiration. And if that's not enough inspiration, this might work:

I really hate this headache that I've got going on. It's pretending to hang around because I am tired, so I tried to take a nap to calm it. Nothing happened. I have had lots of fluids today, so it isn't because I am dehydrated. The only explanation is the weather, of course!

It needs to make up its mind, otherwise I will get no rest this evening!
